The outdoor area for Blossom Class is enclosed and operates a free flow system throughout the majority of the day. Children can also access all areas of the curriculum outside, with a recent focus on adding to the provision in the outside area enhancing their learning even more. The children use the linked outdoor area throughout the timetabled day and the adjoining infant playground at lunchtime.
Snack is provided outside (as well as inside) throughout the day, the children are welcome to help themselves to fruit, bagels, milk and water.
The class has two guinea pigs, which are penned, but children may assist a teacher in ‘looking after them’ at feeding times.
The outside area is part soft floor and part grassed/woodlands. The school has full waterproof suits for the children to wear on the grassed area (depending on the weather), we also have a good stock of wellies, although some children chose to bring their own for the year.
